Our CEO Shalom Mascariñas Receives Prestigious Award from NIU

It is with immense happiness that we announce our CEO, Shalom Mascariñas has been felicitated by Northern Illinois University (NIU) for his outstandingly strong leadership and resilience that saw the growth of the Asian American community. At NIU, the award was presented on April 17, 2024 during the celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Asian American Resource Center & Asian American Certificate Program.

Reflecting on this journey, Shalom shared, "I'm reminded of the incredible impact that mentors and communities can have on our lives. Michelle Bringas and the Asian American Association leaders were that guiding light for me, nudging me in the right direction and empowering me to become a leader."

Shalom emphasized a special place in his heart for the Asian American Community at NIU - not just as a resource center but like a nurturing environment where growth and resilience bloom. He has been able to overcome challenges, embrace leadership, make a meaningful difference through the support and encouragement of this community.

"As we celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Asian American Resource Center & Asian American Certificate Program at NIU, let's recognize the profound influence of mentorship and community. Together, we can continue to uplift and empower the next generation of leaders," Shalom added.
